This is an independent contractor role, not employment. You'll be a 1099/self-employed contractor responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and tools. We'll provide a written contractor agreement at onboarding so everything is clear up front.

Common questions
How do I get paid?
You mark the job complete in Signo, we verify the work (usually within a few hours), then the payout hits your linked bank account same-day. No invoicing, no Net 30, no chasing.
Is this a job or contract work?
Contract. You're an independent contractor — you set your own schedule, bring your own tools, and are responsible for your own taxes and insurance. At onboarding you'll sign a clear contractor agreement so there are no surprises.
What does Signo do exactly?
Signo is our job-dispatch and payouts app. It's where you see available jobs, claim them, navigate to the site, check in, upload before/after photos, mark jobs complete, and get paid. It also tracks your earnings and ratings so you have everything in one place.
Do I need my own insurance?
Yes — basic contractor liability insurance is required. If you don't have it, we'll walk you through getting a policy during onboarding.
Can I still paint for other companies or take side jobs?
Yes. We're non-exclusive. Run your own shop, paint for other companies, do side work — your schedule is yours. All we ask is that jobs you claim in Signo get finished on time.
What if a client isn't happy with my work?
First, we try to fix it together — usually a small touch-up solves it. Our workmanship warranty covers the client, and you'll have a chance to make it right before any impact on your rating. Repeated issues (3+ complaints) can lead to being offboarded from the platform.
How are payout amounts set?
Each job's payout is calculated from its scope — square footage, number of coats, prep difficulty, type of surface. You see the exact number before you accept, and we don't change it after. Top-rated painters get priority access to higher-payout jobs.
Do I have to take every job that shows up?
No — you claim only what you want. No penalty for skipping jobs. Once you claim one, though, you're on the hook to finish it on time. That's what builds your rating.
